Choo Choo's

One place I visited in my childhood was in North Derbyshire near the Cheshire border which you have to climb up steep hills along the Pennines in our car.
My daddy you see was something of a Railway Enthusiast, insisting on dragging us everywhere  in pursuit of his interests when all I wanted to do was sit out in the sun having a picnic with teddy, which if you ever been there you'll understand as the scenery is lovely.

This period of my life wasn't so nice as he'd get mad if he didn't get his ways although I have now started to separate an understanding of the engines and appreciation of the engineering I did have from childhood, loving trains from all that.
This was a famous train that at the time run at the rail centre which I think was covered on the BBC TV children's program  Blue Peter in 1971.

Scouting and me part 2

Every cub learned to squat like a grasshopper  not least during Grand Howl.

The Principals and Ideas in Scouting are part and parcel in me and I much prefer this older uniform than the current form.

To be honest though Brownies was more me with their own rituals and games.

I'd of made a good gurl in the Brownies.

Tights for the feminine LSG in their uniform

I first got into tights in my teens as increasingly my Mom and Aunts bought me them to wear outside of school wear we just had to wear socks cos it was school rules and all that partly cos with growing up they felt I should look more like a young woman when I was out or at social occasions .

The other part was that they felt as I get cold  very quickly, putting me in tights was a very practical thing because enveloping your whole lower body, they keep you warm and snug.

I normally wear either tan or black at work as they pretty well go with anything aren't dear to replace if they snag and don't get a lot of unwanted attention.

Mozart Quintets and Trios

Recently I bought this two cd set that had the contents of a four lp set on that originally had come out on cd in 1991 in a three cd form in a FatBoy case but because it's now possible to put a it more onto a single disc in effect they were able to pack two more Quintets into the two so reducing the price and by using the slim double case, the storage capacity.

For me these recordings from the late nineteen-sixties to the mid seventies have never been surpassed.

It also fits in well with my six cd box set of Mozart's Quartets also by the Amadeus Quartet too I bought.

Last year as part of the anniversary of his 250th death, the noted violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter recorded a number of violin based pieces for DG.

In that series I bought this recording of his Trios 4-6 with André Previn on Piano and Daniel Muller Schott on Cello which is very well played.

Team Games II

Returning to the second of the series, there was only one sport second to footie that mattered to Tammy in School: Rounders.
Run run run to get around to all four posts in time.
In the ideal world I'd of loved to had the option of playing in a skort rather than shorts.

Batting, not my strong point  followed by run for your life. With my co-ordination it wasn't easy but I put everything into it because I was a good gurl.
The right action and with an overview of the ground full marked.
