Tumblr

Tumblr was a thing I discovered through a Lolita fashion blog whose publisher I became friendly with until she became unwell because while the clothes would be too fussy for me to dress myself in easily, I nonetheless loved how they looked for being more feminine.

Around that time she had decided to establish a Tumblr as a way of connecting with others and also talking around other interests apart from promoting her blog which wasn't that easy and today even less so as some of the feeds people used to be able to get have been striped away by Google, Bloggers owner.

It was no accident that Tumblr had a high fashion content given I tended to follow her followers but what became the age regression community also caught my eye so so posts where from and about that although I have since realized I'm Age Dysphoric being permanently and involuntarily regressed as a child.

That Tumblr continues today even if some early posts needed to go due to source issues that don't sit well with today's age regression communities not withstanding many of these blogs are no longer active or even deleted.

As I type this there's a major storm taking place outside of my house, actually the third in a series of three in the last week with many bangs and sounds of things bending or breaking so I have updated my Tumblr, yeah the feminine boy one that goes back a long time as it's too much for me to going out in.

I got up this morning to all this and decided to put on my blue sweat shirt, skirt and white tights and say "damn it" as there's no need to change for any reason at all in the sometimes you might for say outdoor weather and that.

I might as well take full advantage to be fully femme when it's like this, reading comics, playing and listening to some music while all this is going on as there's plenty of food in to last until I can get out in the middle of the week.

I'm just sissy gurl.

Those a feminine sissy gurl me in hur dress often can be seen reading and posting on it next to the Chromebook.

Travelling back through sound

Way back at the start of the original blog we did talk about about interests and hobbies because that was where cthekissfan started up on Friends Reunited and the Tammy concept on blogger started.

It was about sharing something outside of what schools I went to and the short details of what happened after that which that site was all about and I might add missed cos it was a simple concept.

Thus it wasn't so surprising one of early posts was about my favourite Beatles album cos music connects to many experiences.

One is memories and that is where this post comes in because the people behind the Now That's What I Call Music concept have moved to doing some year specific megaboxes from the years I was in school or other learning environments.

This is handy because back then the compilations we bought were by KTel and Ronco, tended to not very good quality and it wasn't until the end of 1983 the first NOW album came out.

In 1982 I know exactly what I was doing and more to the point any number of the songs featured will connect to what I was doing with my school friends as I did my Economics and History lessons.

It was an "landmark" year for me, one that major events took place in the life of this country and the popular music of that year is anything but forgettable

This volume gathers up 84 major hits by the major acts in just one year which is I have to say better than those early decade wide "100 hits" boxes for having a clear focus.

It takes in tv connected hits such as Star Maker from the TV series Fame as kids we all watched and A Little Peace from that years Eurovision plus a very wide selection genre wise of that years hits.

A great replacement for those old lps I and my friends had as there is near enough five lps worth.

Around a month later a supplementary volume "Extra" was issued that over three cds offered another 62 tracks from that year.

It wasn't just minor hits but some major ones such as XTC's Senses Working Overtime, Captain Sensible's Happy Talk and Haircut 100's Nobody's Fool apart from Hi-Fidelity from the tv show "The Kids From Fame" and the cover of What by Soft Cell.

That pushed the number of lp equivalents up to about eight making for a really comprehensive selection of music from that year.

This one is in some ways a bit less essential because the original 1983 NOW which was mainly a best of year album was reissued on cd as was early 1984's NOW 2 which took in the last couple of months songs.

1983 saw me navigating leaving school with some amazingly bad careers advice and trying to find my way through to being post school leaver, trying to sort a career out.

The real plus for this set is more the songs by artists on the then CBS and WEA groups which were not included in Now and Now 2 as they were to set up a rival series in 1984.

It is a great reminder of just how many great songs were out there from teen sensations like Wham and Kajagoogoo to respected old timers such as Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, Robert Plant and Joan Armatrading.

They decided to issue a second special edition with another sixty songs from 1983 across three discs which took in such hits as Manic from the Flashdance soundtrack that I wore the chrome tape out of and Snot Rap as featured on the Kenny Everett show on BBC1.

1984 was the Year of the Pig as the Now series marched on from strength to strength making three double lps all of which have been reissued on cd with the odd track missing in a year that saw soul music start to change and rap influences come into play on songs such as I Feel For You.

The Hits people who managed the CBS and WEA groups gave us two compilations that covered this period and no they're not on cd so while we have more or less the NOW sets, this is good for the missing stuff by ZZ Top, Miami Sound Machine and the Eurythmics who being on RCA didn't feature on the Now albums regularly.

Band Aid's highly memorable very much in the news Do They Know It's Christmas closes the main set.

There was a Extra three cd set with another 60 hits included too which helps fill those gaps with gems like Nellie The Elephant, Hole In My Shoe by Neil from the comedy show The Young Ones I liked during this era and Everything Must Change.

It was very much the era of daytime Radio One listening with characters like Steve Wrights Mr Angry who'd feature between the music that many of lapped up.

Liverpool's controversial Frankie Goes To Hollywood were the break out musical act and all three singles are featured in the sets.

The sets achieve the goal of taking you back in that time and are likely to be added to in time with the 1980 and 1981 sets being ones I'd look forward to.

The week minus

Today's post would of been different for actually being able to be away enjoying myself with a few people I know but sadly that was not going to be.

What might of been achieved however is I suspect questionable given at least here it has been very wet, windy and a bit chilly so in some respects at least as here I'd of been stuck indoors with some heating on just playing rather than playing by myself.

That means the only real loss is company really and that perhaps can be sorted for some point in the future when weather and me are better than they currently are.

Instead I played some music here at the weekend between the Olympics coverage and reading the odd comic that came at the weekend.

That's really more like it!

Finishing touches

Following on a bit from last weeks post in looking at uniform you might as well consider the finishing touches.

Activities will be very much in the active and adventurous sort so highly comfortable  underwear that keeps everything where it should be helps so under the brown skirt should go white gym knickers of a fairly traditional sort.

These are close to what Brownies did wear too.

Socks are a thing that do vary a bit but to me if we are going to do feminine we may as well go with white pereline socks that are not just pretty but do allow your skin to breath  and are really soft.

The other sort of sock that would work is this, a less fussy white girls long just under the knee sock.

The point in making up such a uniform is to allow expression of your feminine boy side within scouts based side.

Finding the freedom to be me

When it all comes together this life is a good a hundred and eighty degrees to that of people of the same bone age even if like ships in the night we pass and at times share space together.

People sometimes wonder where you may find a sense of freedom and where within this lifestyle it can be found given much of the misinformation and criticism you see around.

I suppose the first thing I’d say was that as individuals we have certain freedoms in many instances backed by laws to protect rights such as to have free association, to express points of view, to information that’s free from government interference and bias, to express our sexual and gender identity and practise our beliefs within reason.

Nobody I’ve ever encountered our world ever argued against those things, indeed regardless of  party politics, many have been the strongest advocates for individual liberties and freedoms I’ve ever encountered.

How we use those freedoms in our lives and relationships is very much our own business because they are the bigger things that enable it but the notion that the smaller side, that of how private lives are structured needs to be based on joint everything is not one even in Vanillaville necessarily follows.

After all how do you think a situation where both of you had the last say would work out?

Not very well.

Life for me then is a roll back to much of the social position of a child of having a say but not the final one where Adults rather than the adult-child me run much of my world.

The freedom I get from that is to be that carefree boy able to play, watch tv and read comics with just an agreed time to be in and around for meals and bed time, following the rules of the Adults.

To a very large extent I also resemble that little in their skirts, dresses and shirts although I do own short trousers too which was a freedom denied in original boyhood which leaves me feeling good for just being me rather than feeling I was full time acting as someone else.

And that's the main thing.

The feminine Cub

The conception of a cub me is a recurring thing that cannot in the everyday sense cannot be restored for a whole host of reasons not least the notion of a Adult Cub role doesn't exist and for things around safeguarding you'd never be in with actual children, the very limited leeway in the early days being removed many years ago.

It doesn't mean you cannot do cub like things such as tasks and projects that would of been linked to an award, it's more you're on your own.

There is no reason you cannot make a similar uniform so long as you are not impersonating publicly or otherwise causing harm to the movement for when you are doing this, even perhaps setting down a hour or so for a session.

Not being "official" you are not hide bound to current uniform trends or scriptures which is just as well for feminine boys who like to hang on to such parts of their lives in such a way and in that time somethings have altered such as Scout Groups going totally co-ed.

You might emulate the cubs you were in from the era of grey shorts and they do have something going for them such as pockets.

On the other hand you might as I have create an alternative more feminine cub uniform by adding a simple brown pleated skirt with a more rounded cut popular in junior schools of modest length that you may of preferred.

The choice of Brown is a nod to Brownies, the section created for girls only and remaining so, which makes it a scouting colour with it being the girl equivalent of cubs.

For me this just feels better.

You could keep the traditional boys grey socks with green tabbed garters which would work or go for white girls socks that these days thanks to lycra do stay up well

Brownie uniform has changed radically since the early nineteen nineties when the brown tunic and belt got replaced and the uniform been through several changes since but for me that created feminine cub uniform borrowing some inspiration from brownies of that earlier era just works.
