Brownie scouting Autumn 2023 style

Some years I have put out a post around scouting at this time of year simply because the sights and smells of Autumn and the activities tie in so much to my experiences to the point it brings it all back in all the complications being me involves.

At one level the basic complication is just which section of the movement my little side belongs and today while girls can join scouts which has now totally ceased to be a boys thing, girl guiding is still for girls although they do accept those who medically might be boys but seeing themselves as girls are living as girls.

Given I don't identify as a girl any more than a boy that leaves me and those like me out in the cold.

Fortunately in the new-old world as a age dysphoric sissy, I can side step much of that and follow the basic rules and principals of guiding which are not so dissimilar to cub so for what would be more den or ceremonial purposes go with a wither wearing a brown skirt or adopt a suitably sized traditional brownie tunic but wear grey short trousers when hiking.

What Brownies is about is set out well in this illustration from a 1980's Brownie guide book you'd have when you joined

You may not see much emphasis on it today but Brownies did deal with the issue of looking after you nails, so they are short, attractive but not done in way that has as many ridges from bites than mountains!

As a sissy nail care does matter and doesn't it make sense to talk about it anyway?

As in Cubs, you EARN badges but where you put them differs and you need to sow them on so this handy little guide from the era of the classic brown tunic helps.

Exploring with your very own little canopy above you, looking out for all the mammals, birds and insects around you wasn't that what you loved to and you can today, having adventures.

That's why I've readopted this bit of past as being part of full and now open me.

Party time

Things will be a bit different over the weekend as it is halloween so I'll be away at party for adult littles, biological "girls", transgenders and sissies dedicated to spooky events as in quizzes, arts & crafts and tea.

You'll have decorations up.

Plus you all get to do things like Pumpkin carving which is a load of fun

Being in public even if you present along the sissy range can be nerve wracking remembering the first time I ever went to an event with others, not quite knowing what to wear and to do so you look towards an older sister type person to help you through it, especially if like me you're autistic too so tend to be a bit clueless socially at best.

I'm sure in my best frillies it'll all be okay.

Drawing a line under the two halves

Hello there!

Apart from marking the children's tv show Blue Peter's 65th anniversary on Friday, after much deliberation I have adjusted the blog title to reflect the fact I am univocally a sissy gurl and nothing else.

There is a intermingling between the twin elements in me, the side that holds on to the more rooted in the past  comfort from child like things and rituals and the post adolescent sexually mature side.

There are times presently the majority where being totally in that more child-like state playing is where I am out and the innocence of my thoughts are there and totally deserves protecting in such scenes from anything remotely adult.

There are others where as vulnerable and immature in some ways I am to the point I may be holding a stuffie I will dress in a more sexy way to the point I am looking for you to see me as sexual and wanting such sexual play.

They may be more an element of mix and match but it'll always be clear which headspace I am in.

Yes Singles and thoughts on the vinyl revival

There was a time when vinyl records were expected to be just a memory removed from shops as a new item with just few used ones traded more as mementos of the past in "Olde World" shops.

Equally many of us expected and went through the process of converting our record and tape collections to compact discs as I recall going on Friday afternoons with bags of records to part exchange for new cds or credits for any they held.

By the mid nineties I had just a few left usually where a title hadn't been issued on cd (some early Rolling Stones titles were not) or where I wanted mixes not issued on cd such as the stereo Beatles first four UK albums and the original stereo Help and Rubber Soul.

But in the main all new titles and back catalogue was now bought on the cd thus all my Yes progressive rock lps went for compact discs either regular ones or the audiophile issues on labels such as Mobile Fidelity and Audio Fidelity.

Things as you may of noticed are different today.

Your record shop has a lot of brand new records, not just old classic rock or soul but todays artists too because many have rediscovered over twenty years the vinyl record and buy them.

I haven't been immune from that virus having upgraded my record playing equipment and buying brand new discs and rebuying some favourites from the past, hearing more of the playing than I did back in the day.

That you see is where Yes Singles fits in, a single disc of single edits that capture them from 1969 to 1984 which is really where my interest in this prog rock band stopped as much as I did get Big Generator on vinyl in 1987.

The full track list is here and if you know this music, you can see why I'd want it.

1 Your Move (Single Version)

2 Starship Trooper: Life Seeker (Single Version)

3 Roundabout (Single Version)

4 America (Single Edit)

5 And You and I (Part One) [promo Radio Edit]

6 Soon (Single Edit)

7 Sound Chaser (Single Edit)

8 Wonderous Stories (Single Version)

9 Don't Kill the Whale (Single Version)

10 Into the Lens (Single Version)

11 Owner of a Lonely Heart (Single Version)

12 Leave It (Single Remix)

While some are not whole works - and with Yes some do run to over 20 minutes! - it reminds you of their achievements in their single forms that are otherwise stuck on many pieces of seven inch plastic so I got this on Friday, day of release.

It was cleaned before playing and it does sound great and just hearing Roundabout and Wonderous Stories on vinyl takes me back years.

Recommended  even if you may want Classic Yes for the full length versions of some tracks.

R.I.P. Sanriotown.com

My adventures online started in the mid 2000's and one rabbit hole I soon found myself going further down was very much the kawaii so it was not so long before I bumped into Hello Kitty online from many unofficial sites and blogs connected to all things Sanriotown.

What it offered was gaming, all sanrio themed with Chococat and Hello Kitty herself, forums for endless discussion of everything Sanrio and beyond, post cards you could email and even blogging.

It also offered the ability to have your own very kawaii email with a choice of domains so I opted to have a @hellokitty.com email.

It was the ideal place for that younger than my years Littles me to play in a more child-like environment.

Thus there was a finality when on Monday September 18th I had this email.

"Dear SanrioTown Users,

We are writing to inform you about a significant upcoming change regarding your SanrioTown email account (“Your Account”).

After careful consideration and evaluation of our business operations, we regret to inform you that we have decided to cease the operations of SanrioTown. As a result, the SanrioTown website, Your Account and the relevant services that we have been providing to you will no longer be available from November 1, 2023 (“Shutdown Date”).

We understand the significance of email communication in both personal and professional capacities and assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. Over the years, we have appreciated your loyalty and trust in SanrioTown, and we want to ensure a smooth transition during this period.

Therefore, we encourage you to save the chat history and any essential contacts or information of Your Account. On and after the Shutdown Date, you will no longer be able to access or retrieve any data in Your Account.

To facilitate the transition, we recommend that you take the following steps:

1. Backup Your Data: Please ensure that you back up all the essential emails, contacts, and any other important data in Your Account. This will allow you to retain access to the valuable information of Your Account on and after the Shutdown Date.

2. Choose a New Email Service Provider: To continue receiving and sending emails on and after the Shutdown Date, we encourage you to select an alternative email service provider, such as Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo Mail, among others.

3. Inform Your Contacts: Please notify your contacts about your upcoming email address change to ensure that they can update their records and communications accordingly.

We understand that change can be challenging and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this shutdown may cause you.  Once again, we extend our gratitude for your support and loyalty to SanrioTown over the years. We genuinely value your business and trust that you will find an alternative email service that meets your needs."

For a period there had been issues with the email account being down for months and being locked out too so I had made an account with Gmail but now it seems that playground in the Ether will be no more.

Rather like Tinier Me, Friends Reunited and Experience Project another element of the past sails away to the internet scrapyard.
