R.I.P. Mum

 

This post is short but to the point.

In a week that saw my Mom become very unwell with at least one possible emergency admittance hospital after a period of increasing ill health it is with much regret I have to announce her death at 5:15pm from Pneumonia and related issues.

A women who saw herself as the centre of the family, aunt to the street,  a constant help to us as children encouraging us in our endeavours, a devoted wife to dad I'm saddened by this turn of events.

R.I.P. Mom.

The Family

Fathers are very important in children's lives although many seem more devoted to their offices than their own families sadly not being helped by high property prices and a the long hours culture that squeezes family time.

I believe girls are best encouraged into exploring their own sense of femininity, dressing in skirts and dresses more than is now the case, learning how to be mother and an an adult female as much as I am for equality in education and vocational opportunities for all rather than pushing being masculine on her.

It's important to that his space as a apprentice man is respected as he learns what it means to be male, to look after himself, be a father, and rise children.

What I'd of given to had been able to of worn a pink dress like the girl in this delightful illustration as a young sissy so openly you can't begin to imagine.

The Basics

Family life was really where it was at.

From long summer hols with buckets and spades to b-b-q's in the great outdoors done over the grill those were the things I so loved growing up.

On Saturday, I started work on a Helicopter Lego kit I'd  had for a short while having bought it on discount from the local newsagent.

It's the kind of thing I did back then as that child.

Unlike some of them, this did give you three options so I started with this one.

That's really the criticism many level at lego for the preoccupation with themed kits because you only have a limited number of parts and can only make a few things at the most from them while the Lego box sets we had as Boys had more.

Moreover, the boxes encouraged you to use your imagination to make things although they may have suggestions whereas these kits don't.

I'd die for a new lego set.

In some ways this life is about regaining and reliving those experiences all over again.
