A crossroads in March

I'm trying to avoid taking in too much of the news updates and that not least as beyond the feminine boy label, I am actually and adult little albeit of a feminine boy sort.

A pleated tartan skirt, long white socks and Mary Janes would be really the thing for me.

Virus or not it was my birthday recently and in with the presents was something pretty useful connected with that little side.

 I love and need lego to play with having a few sets and this set from the Lego Educational range comprises of wheel parts like axles, tires plus the baseplates and connectors to attach them to your lego.

This at a stroke expands the range of things I can just make and play with.

The Basics

Family life was really where it was at.

From long summer hols with buckets and spades to b-b-q's in the great outdoors done over the grill those were the things I so loved growing up.

On Saturday, I started work on a Helicopter Lego kit I'd  had for a short while having bought it on discount from the local newsagent.

It's the kind of thing I did back then as that child.

Unlike some of them, this did give you three options so I started with this one.

That's really the criticism many level at lego for the preoccupation with themed kits because you only have a limited number of parts and can only make a few things at the most from them while the Lego box sets we had as Boys had more.

Moreover, the boxes encouraged you to use your imagination to make things although they may have suggestions whereas these kits don't.

I'd die for a new lego set.

In some ways this life is about regaining and reliving those experiences all over again.

Lego creations

Outside of Meccano which was my favourite engineering based toy, lego was the second best because provided you avoid the misguided souvenir kits, your only limit on what you could make as a child was your very own imagination.

Even running out of parts could be tackled buy either buying whole new sets some of which may contain things like electric motors or bundles of bricks in whatever form and colour you prefer. 

Unfortunately the very set I had as a child and all the extras got taken away by folks in my mid teens for some reason or other but I do long for a 'proper' one.
