Gothic sanriotown

This week I am going back a little in time when it comes to  inspiration and my mania for all things Sanriotown to the point I belonged to the website and had a Hello Kitty email address and account with them.

It was early in Twenty Ten that I first noticed the gothic presentations of many of Sanriotowns products initially in the then mecca the high street known as Woolworths that I tended to call as a a feminine boy looking for things for my work area.

This is a gothic version of My Melody, Hello Kitty's best friend who was born in London, England and has a birthday on January 18th in the Forest of Mariland.

Kuromi is her rival even if they are depicted as friends.

When she debuted, she was portraying Little Red Riding Hood in her version of the classic fairy tale. That is why she wears a red (or pink) hood that covers her ears, often having a bow or a flower on her right side. She is a very honest, good-natured girl. Her favourite food is almond pound cake

Hello Kitty remains my first love and here she is in two contrasting Goth looks, the one to the right being on balance my favourite.

This plushie is a little more toned down but still shows Goth traits

A red and black gothic hello kitty choker complete with bell.

Hello Kitty x Dollskill dramatic daze oversized sweater with choker worn to give a gothic edgy look from a kawaii icon.

Personally I think that whole look works with the black leggings balancing out the sweater when it comes to the amount of on show skin.

Sanriotown issues

It was with some shock to find on Friday last an activity that had been a part of my internet life for a long time just wasn't available outside of the other business talked about elsewhere and still isn't available as I type this.

For almost as long as this blog has been going, Sanriotown.com was the first port of call not just for The Game but also things such as the busy forum where by design discussions were never 18+ which suited me as most adult conversations go over my head and don't really fit in my life, offered wallpaper and screen-savers.

It tied into my kawaii centred feminine boy side totally.

They also has something I just adored, a oh so kawaii email with customization of the domains for whatever Sanriotown character you liked  which for me meant I had a me @hellokitty.com email address that linked directly to things such as ecards you could people at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas and that.

When I went to look at it, my email had gone with over a decades worth of stored emails from past organizations and acquaintances

The overall impression is that sanriotown.com and Hello Kitty Online is for all intents and purposes dead joining other sites we used such as experience project, friends reunited, beststuff and the GeoCities blogging platform in the internet graveyard.

Computing adventures

This week there's been a few computing related things on my mind.

Sanriotown.com is a place I visited rather a lot from around 2007 because it had a variety of things under one roof such as a Multiplayer game set in the Sanrio world you could play, a fairly active forum where people of all ages talked about all the different characters tv shows and merchandise, not just Hello Kitty but Twin Little Stars, Chococat and others too.

You could send e-cards - and I certainly did - based on the characters, download screensavers which I also did, have a blog there and have email accounts with your name@any of the sanriocharacters.com such as hello kitty.

All in all it was great place, ideal for a little too if you used a bit of commonsense when it comes to sharing spaces.

Over the years bits have fell off such as the game but this last few weeks not only has the email been down with "Down for service" but the whole site has too like this morning I couldn't connect even to the homepage.

I just get this feeling it's terminal.

One advantage in having your browsers information used with your Google Account is it always stays in step across different machines so if you've been as online as long as I have you can whip out the old laptop and edit the bookmarks as sites either lose all interest to you, Tumblrs get removed or sites have shut down for good  in the knowledge every machine you use will now be updated.

This probably is something I should of done a while back to be honest but the idea of doing to separate machines one by one put me off.

That said the new Chromebook is working out fine for things like chatting with my BFF when the laptop isn't just overkill but takes a while to boot up and then runs warm which on a day like Saturday when it was almost 30 degrees C is the last thing you need as your sipping water by the beakerful, trying to stay cool.

Shared spaces

Some indication of just how feminine I am can be seen by my work desk in an office shared with a good number of people where my plushies and tote bags show it clearly and where everybody knew I was a jane girl.

I have a mania for hello kitty stuff.

I was just me working to the best abilities as part of a team.

Cute with Kalashnikitty

You spend hours at times trying to deny it but actually I  love the feel of satin nighties and panties against my skin and really that denial thing is what we're working on right now.

Maybe some suitable styled  correction might just put a stop to all of this once and for all.

....And now for something different! Let's say I've always had a soft spot for things like Hello Kitty, the cultish Japanese iconic character but this un-official pose is one I truly adore. If it wasn't for the 'Gun Talk' rules on a certain website, I'd have it as my avatar. To me it kind of symbolizes the mixture of the innocent with the knowing - the bit that just might have to use force or weapons.
