Playing the game cos nothing has changed

Being a little sissy gurl does not mean I have to give up the passions of my boyhood youth because being a sissy gurl does not mean you aren't sporty or physical or that you lack gumpton when it comes to stamina.

I loved playing footy in juniors and early high school for both the competitive game and also for the social side as it was a great means to bond and because I love wearing skirts and dresses no more means I can't than today many girls love playing knowing they're still girls for all that.

It's just about me being the authentic sissy me, that's all.

Team Games III

Here go in the last of the current Team Sports series looking at the the time sports I loved  from Junior and High school.
Field Hockey
We're on the case of the ball!
Fielding, what you need to be good at.

My brother got sent off for hitting an opponent with his hockey stick on the field!

Overall view as the match is well underway.
Girls playing the game and yes I'd sooner play in a games skirt or skort as a feminine gurl with them.

It's no wonder I've always followed the NHL don'tcha think?

Earning your Sport Adventure badge

Brownies, the young adventurers, embark on exciting journeys during their time with Girlguiding. One of the thrilling adventures they can undertake is the Brownie Sport Adventure Badge. 🌟

To earn this badge, Brownies participate in a sport adventure activity that involves equipment, a game, and rules. Whether it’s fencing, axe throwing, or another exhilarating sport, the key is to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. 🤺🪓

Here are some questions to determine if they’ve had a true sport adventure:

Did the activity take you beyond their usual routine or comfort zone?

Was it a new experience for you?

Did you explore a new place?

Did you discover something new about yourself?

If they answer yes to at least three of these questions, you’ve achieved the Brownie Sport Adventure Badge! 🏅

Interests of "The Child"

This week I'm talking about interests and where they led me.

Sports were a big thing in school to the point they were social connectors so any child who wanted to get on like me needed to get engaged with them.

Hand to eye co-ordination was never me strong thing cutting across to varying extents my abilities in playing school sports but the thing was it never stopped me trying or just playing as a purely social thing.

That meant I was prepared to pick up a tennis racket and ball to play with another child if they felt like a game even though I'm not good at it rather than getting into funk or screaming to anyone who would listen.

Another interest of mine was music, specifically recorded music.

When I was younger how you listened, the cultivation of a time to listen intently to it, appreciating
took hold not that I didn't have music on as a 'background' but I'd find time to do just that and maybe a quiet room to sit in too.
Also I was interested in how that sound was reproduced caring that although I may of been ten years old, I was getting the best I could get from my recordings be they tapes or as was common then stereo  records.

I was fortunate Dad knew a fair bit about electronics and especially audio engineering so even with our modest income I had at that age my very own stereo record player with a built in radio cos he built it for me from modules and made a case from wood. That was better sounding compared to what my friends had.

As I got more into my teens money permitting I bought magazines about what they called "High Fidelity" which when remove a lot of technical terms and snobbery from it is really more about getting the best sound and they had articles about improving what you heard as well as reviews of equipment.

I was reading them cover to cover from the age of eight!

Around the same time I got from grown up friends handed down equipment that while good wasn't as good as what they could now afford was better than what I had so at one point I had a tubed Rogers Cadet II amplifier with it's control unit, a Panasonic stereo cassette deck for recording and playing cassette tapes on , a Goldring turntable and cartridge and a pair of hand made speakers using units originally fitted to Rolls Royce upmarket cars!

Today I own an all Rotel stereo separate system and a Sony MiniDisc recorder with a portable player for listening while away or on the move.

Cricket

Cricket was something I heard a lot about in the era of Geoff Boycott although apart from playing the simplified "French Cricket" variant with my younger brother on hols in t shirts and short games shorts, I never did cricket.

The Two Mark's at boarding school were massively into it though memorizing the daily scores, watching by permission bits of the Test Matches on the common room tv during breaks or putting the radio onto BBC Radio Four test match special to catch up in that pre-internet era.

If I were to had played it, I'd sooner had done so in a games skirt or skort.

Some girls did play cricket usually at Prep Schools but that was very much a minority thing back then although that's starting to change.
