Scouting now and then

Look for an influence in my life with its ups and downs, variances and challenges and you'll find it within Scouting.

It's always evolving not just for me personally but across the whole movement sometimes in good ways and sometimes as within how your uniform is worn like here regardless each persons achievements in the wearing of jeans, trackpants and trainers not so for what was an "official" photograph.

They do not look smart whatever use they may have elsewhere.

Being smart in your uniform, being inspected and ordered to correct your dress was something my generation grew up in scouts as the girls did in girl guides apart from school and it shows.

This was nineteen seventy-three/four, not everything was right in that era but we always looked smart but had fun, knowing our limits because we were not mini adults but were acknowledged however embarrassing it might of seemed as children and if we were running away with the notion that we were grown up, promptly reminded we were not!

Scouts then was not co-ed because scouting while originally conceived in Edwardian times for Boys had produced a whole wing for Girls and which you joined depended on your sex which pretty much every boy and girl understood.

Personally and certainly with no criticism of the girls in it I feel that was not just a breach of faith with the guiding principals established by Baden-Powell himself but a shot against the bows of the authorized section for girls.

There is evidence from a number of fields that show boys and girls do better in single sex groups with their tasks and learning tailored to each's own interests and program style and the program content can and should reflect present day needs for each.

There is a place for adventure for girls as much as crafts and so-called soft people skills for boys.

Gothic sanriotown

This week I am going back a little in time when it comes to  inspiration and my mania for all things Sanriotown to the point I belonged to the website and had a Hello Kitty email address and account with them.

It was early in Twenty Ten that I first noticed the gothic presentations of many of Sanriotowns products initially in the then mecca the high street known as Woolworths that I tended to call as a a feminine boy looking for things for my work area.

This is a gothic version of My Melody, Hello Kitty's best friend who was born in London, England and has a birthday on January 18th in the Forest of Mariland.

Kuromi is her rival even if they are depicted as friends.

When she debuted, she was portraying Little Red Riding Hood in her version of the classic fairy tale. That is why she wears a red (or pink) hood that covers her ears, often having a bow or a flower on her right side. She is a very honest, good-natured girl. Her favourite food is almond pound cake

Hello Kitty remains my first love and here she is in two contrasting Goth looks, the one to the right being on balance my favourite.

This plushie is a little more toned down but still shows Goth traits

A red and black gothic hello kitty choker complete with bell.

Hello Kitty x Dollskill dramatic daze oversized sweater with choker worn to give a gothic edgy look from a kawaii icon.

Personally I think that whole look works with the black leggings balancing out the sweater when it comes to the amount of on show skin.

Evolving times

Some parts from the past used to be a constant handed down ritual from homework diaries, what stuff to take with you in your bag each day and what to leave in your locker to "knowing" Fish was on the menu for school dinners on  Friday.

You also knew if you hadn't lived with a prescriptive uniform policy before high school in state run schools you certainly would at Eleven Plus transition often everything would be spelt out even to the brand or supplier.

For boys it was always long trousers from around the mid nineteen seventies and that was very much that.

In more recent years some of that sole supplier business has dropped off and a few have added tailored short trouser options while a few have dared to add skirts.

That is an example of one for sixth form boys which would of been unthinkable when I was in the sixth in the early nineteen eighties.

For most socks haven't been changed although the kind of traditional long turn over top school socks we had seem to have drifted away from mainstream uniform suppliers while girls socks the drift away from white pelerine as they transitioned to plain white or black ones followed by tights seems to have moved towards more feminine socks with bows.

Many suppliers of long socks have socks like these marketed as unisex but having more in common with those girls socks.

I think I'd be a bit more comfortable in today's world at school as a feminine schoolboy than I was way back then.

Fresh starts II

We talked a bit about changes around presenting this year as a feminine boy and why it's so important to ensure whatever I wear of a more traditional feminine nature looks smart so it helps me feel good about being me and how that's how it will be.

There is a certain irony in that actually I got the more traditionally masculine schoolboy side down to a tee in that regard by last year carefully selecting the presentation and when it came to my shorts getting them tailored so the length look right on me.

One thing we do when I'm away with friends is to have sports sessions rather like the old School Sports Day we had with a variety of events, played per team for fun.

Now I do have a number of boys sports shorts similar to those I had back in the late nineteen seventies and early nineteen eighties but often I do switch to a more traditional feminine presentation which when it came to sport in the past had been based on gym skirt with matching knickers concept which is pretty much old school.

I have decided to switch as a feminine little sissy gurl over to wearing a Black Skort, which is basically a skirt with built in shorts that wraps over so it looks like a traditional games skirt but won't show your knickers which is something many schools now have in the nominally girls uniform.

It's outwardly feminine  but modern and makes more sense for a feminine boy as there's less likelihood of anything showing.

Because some of my other sports kit is a bit old and thanks to Covid wasn't used much for a good eighteen months I decided to team that with Blue sports T shirt which may be designated as "boys" but hey it works and as I'm a sissy gurl I'm super qualified to wear it!

I feel a specifically feminine boy form of sports presentation suits me better rather than either aping girls with a natural bias toward curves.

Past sites and how they impact us today

The hunt for things around being feminine and a boy in the past wasn't easy and even today there remains tensions that in part go back to tropes encouraged encouraged in part by some older sites.

This last week the Petticoat Discipline Quarterly site that had a  forum was "suspended" after a short period where its owner had sadly died but that site had two things I was never at home with going on, one being the advocacy of making boys to look like girls mixing in humiliation for good measure and the other was a strong anti male bias where many advocated the end of masculinity and the making of all boys as females with actual females in control of any male, feminine or otherwise.

To me that has nothing to do with being a feminine boy even if people on their wore female attire because it rejected the "boy" bit completely as if we, as boys, have no sex identity.

The site "Sissy Kiss" traded in the dressing of boys and men as effeminate, sometimes with a age play or regression side but with hyper sexuality never much beneath the surface and that again was linked with the idea of their humiliation and being controlled by women

On Thursday I saw this brief post by Rachel Leigh there "Time to move on, I keep seeing porn show up and want no part of a site that allows that".

And that was the thing. It tried to say it is a site for people who expressed a feminine side often with regression and age play but surrounded posts with blatant pornography that would never appeal to a person who was regressing to the age of a child and who had a feminine male side.

To them, I'd say good luck, cos no one seriously into that thing needs it .

These tropes encourage people to visit better sites for people like age regressors and feminine boys by feeding the idea we want and are looking for sexual interaction rather than just to chat and be ourselves like everyone else.

Then those people pester people by direct messaging for favours and the like.

I'm glad PDQ was suspended and at least some at Sissy Kiss are prepared to call out what is allowed on that site publicly.

I'm just glad I found the feminine boys sub reddit which works well for a sissy gurl like me.

Reflections

The new reality isn't really all that new but just the outward manifestation of the reality within, that did not and could not move on which is really what being age dysphoric means in practical terms when you are (being) allowed to be just you.

Being you for me means I am a sissy gurl who wears skirts as an outward gender presentation of my gender identity as being feminine with some masculine traits variance with gender norms for males but at one with being by biological sex a boy.

The issues some people have with the outward signs of age dysphoria such as the ill-informed comments in one park is the external drivers of dysphoria, the fear of being misunderstood and abused on the street.

I'm now often wearing skirts, doing so for much of the Christmas period and feeling happy that way.

Where does Tammy a sissy gurl belong?

After the usual Christmas and New Year posts on here we get very much back into regular blogging on here

People sometimes give you the impression they really don't know what to quite make of you and just where you do fit in given that much of the social world does revolve around the fact there are boys and there are girls who will often break into groups that are just for them.

This works well for most people and it is really quite foolish and arrogant for anyone who doesn't fit within the overwhelming majority to expect them to totally restructure society just for us.

What I wish for is the ability to make a consistent choice  over which group I join that having done so I am not altering the very nature of it  just playing a part within that group talking about and maybe doing things within it.

And to be respected within it.

The bottom line is Tammy is  a Sissy Gurl and I know I am NOT a girl and have no inclination to want to be a girl, not least an adult Woman and I have never made it as a boy and even less as a Man.

If as was often the case at school I was in a Girls group, I deferred to them allowing the group to be a girls group that allowed a Sissy Gurl me into it saving me the bigger issues of being in Boys groups I had even less in common with because I was and am feminine.

Those girls had real authority over me but it worked for them and for me.

January edition

It's post Christmas with it's blend of more traditional things in it  and other things  and we begin with a new sweatshirt to go with new grey skirt and the Camel Thompson kilt skirt I had last month.

It's a simple thing that can be used to create outfits that work for me keying in with them plus shorts in a suitable gender fluid way.

I feel integrating a look across the whole of your expression rather than in effect having two different wardrobes makes much more sense.

I spoke early in the blog about not having anything exceptional when it came to comics when it comes to their gender direction and if anything some were very much masculine but in others the storylines were more targeted towards girls and their interests.

The Beano had Minnie The Minx and these days Rubi's Screwtop Science and The Dandy had Keyhole Kate and Beryl The Peril in they are reflected in this years annuals while past comic strips are in in the classic compilation from both.

I've been enjoying that Jinty I had for christmas  annual a lot for being the kind of a balance between where the more masculine side went with comics and the "forbidden" feminine for the lack of anything soppy and the sporty nature while including school based stories like the school play competition and the odd cookery feature.

It underscores why I belong in the set "feminine boy" because other than being born with a male body and being happy with it, that world is right where my mind is at enjoying my more Little Sissy side.

The balance tends to work for me and how I take that balance when I get away next month is something to be worked on as don't wish to have two totally different presentations with bits and bobs with lugging a case on a train with me.

It is a huge pity themed compilations like those D C Thomson do for the Beano and Dandy of the past aren't done for Jinty and Misty so we might have more of the best of what they had to offer.
